Employment Based Immigration Relief Provisions Apparently Excluded from House Conference Report

On December 19, the US House of Representatives (House) conference report regarding Senate Bill 1932 apparently does not contain provisions that would have increased the H-1B cap by recapturing 30,000 H-1B slots, and also omitted a provision regarding recapturing green card slots that were unused in previous years.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN THAT THERE WILL BE NO IMMIGRATION REFORM. It simply means, that this bill will not contain the reform, UNLESS the conference report indicates otherwise. These provisions may be introduced in other legislation in the future.

Considering the current climate, this is not a surprising outcome.
