DOL BEC UPDATE

The BRCs are now known as BEC - Backlog Elimination Centers. They were previously known as Backlog Reduction Centers.

There are approximately 350,000 applications pending between Dallas (163,000) and Philadelphia (185,000) BEC. Of these approximately 10% have been withdrawn or cancelled.

45 day letters have been sent on only 155,000 of these pending applications to date. The DOL advises that it may take them into June 2006 to send 45 day letters on all filings.

Of the remaining applications only 16,000 have been Certified nationwide to date.

If a 45 day letter has not been received on your application, please be advised that it may take some time before these are issued as per the Department of Labor. As and when we receive them we notify the employer.
