Updated Usage of H-1B and H-2B Caps

A total of 16,698 cases have been counted against the 20,000 H-1B cap for advanced degree holders from U.S. universities. 14,281 have been approved, and 2,417 are still being processed.

38,088 cases have been counted (29,213 approved and 8,875 pending) against the 66,000 cap. Only 33,000 slots can be released in any half year, so that half are allocated during the first 6 months of FY2006, and the residual 33,000 are released for use at the beginning of the second 6 months.
