H-1B Usage - FY 05 and FY 06

USCIS issued a press release yesterday and indicated that it had received 8,069 H-1B petitions FY 05 cap exemption for holders of US advanced degrees. 20,000 of these visas exists. USCIS also indicated that it head received 27,300 petitions against the FY 06 H-1B cap. As of June, USCIS indicated that approximately 5500 of these FY 06 H-1B petitions are against the exemption for holders of U.S. advanced degrees.
